Knox County Commission today postponed an effort to remove former Commissioner Scott Moore from the Board of Zoning Appeals until the Tennessee Supreme Court has a chance to rule on Moore’s ouster appeal.
Commission voted 9-4 – with one commissioner opting to pass and five others having recused themselves – to grant Moore a continuance after he presented several arguments as to why today’s hearing shouldn’t move forward.

Davis, in the Chancery Court lawsuit, demands that the court issue an injunction requiring Mackay and the Election Commission to certify Davis as a “qualified candidate for the Republican nomination for County Commission for the 4th District and to take every action within their legal authority to ensure the plaintiff is placed upon the ballot for the May 4, 2010 county primary election.”
Davis nominating petition was declared invalid by Mackay and the Election Commission because she did not have the required 25 signatures of persons in the 4th District. Mackay declined to comment Thursday.
